Frustrated by the UN’s inability to find a consensus on the Syrian Conflict issue, Kofi Annan has decided to quit his post as UN-Arab League envoy. Mr. Annan worked very hard on his 6 point plan to somehow alleviate the situation in Syria, but found himself at a loss, with Russia and China wielding their magic veto sticks, stifling any attempt towards a diplomatic resolution. Kofi Annan’s 6 point plan included, the end to violence by all sides, army troops to stop using heavy weapons and pull back into their barracks. It also included the possibility for humanitarian aid, political detainees to be freed, free movement for journalists and for Syrian authorities to allow for peaceful demonstrations. An estimated 20,000 people have died since anti-government demonstrations erupted in March last year. Everybody say thank you Russia and China, for once again proving that in your world a human life is worth the same as a live round of AK-47 ammunition. Mr. Annan we salute you and your efforts. Thank you for trying.

Facebook has finally admitted to what we have all suspected! Out of its 955 million active users total, more than 83 million users are fake! The fake users can be separated into the groups, the largest group of fakes has been identified as duplicate accounts, so that guys can maintain multiple identities, to date a wide range of women at the same time – I assume. And profiles for cats and dogs. Then there is the group called “user-misclassified” aka business profiles. And then there are the “undesirable” accounts, used for spamming innocent Facebookers. Anyhoo the main issue is that Facebook is trying to monetize the LIKE button and multiple firms have noticed fake likes on their pages, that were operated by bots, therefore synthetically driving up Facebook’s ad revenue. Naughty naughty, but apparently Facebook is looking into this issue.

And Great Britain strikes more Gold! Three more Gold Medals for the efforts of Tim Baillie and Erienne Stott for the canoe slalom, shooter Peter Wilson collected the precious metal for winning the double trap, and the men’s sprint cycling team, collected their golden medallion for their remarkable world record breaking efforts! This marks 5 Gold Medals for Britain and 15 medals total, placing it in 5 position in the medal count rankings, right behind France. Keep up the good effort England!
