    Today in the News:
    – The Australian billionaire Clive Palmer wants to rebuild the Titanic
    – Pope Benedict to be called ’emeritus pope’
    – Drinkers sue Anheuser-Busch for ‘watering down’ beer

The Australian billionaire Clive Palmer, who is financing the replica
luxury liner Titanic, unveiled blueprints for the ship that will be
built in China, where else?!, he also wants Titanic 2 to take the same
maiden voyage in 2016 as the original Titanic from Southampton, England,
to New York City…well you know minus the iceberg. He wants the area
for passengers to be authentic with the same design and facilities. But
there will also be modern equipment such as air conditioning and other
features – such as internet on the ship. Even Costumes inspired by the
1920s will be provided. And, yes, enough life boats for everyone. I dont
know about you guys but to me it sounds a little ominous this idea. And
no way do we wanna set foot on that thing. If there is a Titanic 2 there
might also be an iceberg 2.

Pope Benedict XVI will be known as “emeritus pope” in his retirement and
will continue to wear a white cassock. The pope’s title and what he
would wear has been a major question ever since Benedict stunned the
world and announced he would resign on Thursday, the first pontiff to do
so in 600 years. While he will no longer wear his trademark red shoes,
Benedict has taken a liking to a pair of hand-crafted brown loafers made
for him by artisans in Leon, Mexico, and presented to him during his
2012 visit. He will wear those in retirement. Hmmm I really didnt think
that pope’s are this fashion conscious.

Beer drinkers in the US have filed a $5m lawsuit accusing Anheuser-Busch
of watering down its beer. The lawsuits, filed in Pennsylvania,
California and other states, claim consumers have been cheated out of
the alcohol content stated on beer labels. The suit involves 10
Anheuser-Busch beers including Budweiser and Michelob. Anheuser-Busch is
denying all claims of course, but the lawsuits are based on information
from former employees at breweries owned by the multinational.
Apparently the watering down practice began after the American
Anheuser-Busch merged with the Belgian-Brazilian InBev in 2008, to form
the world’s largest alcohol producer. And this ladies and gentleman is
where mass production is hurting the consumer and I am not really
surprised at these allegations. I mean they are growing headless
chickens for crying out loud, so why not water down beer, as long as you
dont notice all fair game no?
