With the November 6th presidential elections approaching rapidly, yesterday we talked about how Mitt Romney has committed yet another faux pas, saying that 47% of Americans are in support of Obama, because they are too dependent upon the government, and believe the government has a responsibility to care for them. You would assume, that Romney would try to set the record straight, but it seems he is not backing down from his hidden camera comments, dissing almost half of the US voters. Romney is a former private equity executive, with an estimated fortune of $250 million, a fortune, which makes many people perceive him as an out-of-touch elitist. The release of this video could now seal the deal, and makes it seem, that he does not care about the concerns of ordinary Americans. Or at the very least, that he wants to be president of 53% of America but not the rest of it. So in conclusion, Romney might have accidentally handed back that empty chair to Obama. What do you guys out there think? Did Romney just crush his own campaign? Post your comments!

Oh no they didn’t! Security is being increased at France’s public establishments abroad, after a French satirical magazine published obscene cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. Yeah just put some more salt on the wound, why don’t ya? The Charlie Hebdo magazine paper edition, features caricatures, which makes fun of both the uproar in the Islamic world over the NOW famous amateur video, that mocks the prophet Muhammad, and the row over the publication in France of topless photos, of the Duchess of Cambridge. Not surprisingly the magazine has confirmed, that its website has been attacked. It was not accessible as of this morning, and riot police have been deployed around the magazine’s offices in Paris. Magazine editor Stephane Charbonnier said: “I’m not asking strict Muslims to read Charlie Hebdo, just like I wouldn’t go to a mosque to listen to speeches that go against everything I believe.” She kinda has a point doesn’t she?

And from Russia with love, we have Putin and his regime continuing to eradicate any trace of foreign influence, in the motherland. USAID, the U.S. Agency for International Development has until October 1 to pack its bags and cease all operations in Russia. This newest development, appears intended to cut funding to organizations, that Putin sees as a threat following his return as president in May, basically a full on crackdown on pro-democracy groups. USAID has worked in Russia for two decades, since the collapse of the Soviet Union, and has spent over $2.6 billion on programs intended to combat disease, protect the environment, strengthen civil society and modernize the economy. But Putin fears they have been influencing Russia’s internal politics too much.given the fact that it was funding the Russian election monitor GOLOS, the organization that detected wide spread fraud in the last elections, and ignited the mass protests against Putin’s rule. Yaiks, he really is serious about this little all power to myself addiction of his.
