Greece has reached a ruling coalition. The New Democracy party together with the Socialist Pasok party and Democratic Left party, will together take the wheel and hopefully lead Greece out of this mess. Antonis Samaras, the leader of the New Democracy Party is expected to be sworn in as prime minister today, and is in final talks with Pasok leader Evangelos Venizelos and Democratic Left head Fotis Kouvelis, to agree on who would be in the new cabinet. Remains the question as to who will be Greece’s new finance minister – so far two names are in the running for the position, former European Commissioner Stavros Dimas and former Development Minister Kostis Hatzidakis. Whoever is the lucky man to be names financial minister of Greece, will have a heavy burden to carry, and will have to face an angry Greek public, exhausted by two years of austerity measures.

Wiki Leaks founder, Julian Assange is making headlines again. He has taken refuge in Ecuador’s embassy in London, seeking asylum, in a last effort, to avoid extradition to Sweden over sex crime accusations. For 18 months he has been fighting in court against Swedish authorities, who want him bad, for allegation of rape and sexual assault, made by two female former WikiLeaks volunteers. While Ecuador is studying his petition, Julian Assange is safe and immune to UK police and prosecutors. This last resort move has been motivated, by his fears, that extradition to Sweden might mean he would be extradited to the US, where espionage and treason are punished with the death penalty. Assange has been denying the rape charges and strongly believes, this campaign against him is politically motivated…which it probably is.

So according to a new study, if you use common baby soaps and shampoos, including those from Johnson &Johnson, Aveeno and CVS, your baby might test positive for marijuana. Yeah! A tiny amount of the shampoo in a urine sample, can trigger a positive result. University of Carolina stumbled upon these results, after an unusual number of new born babies in their nurseries, started testing positive for the drug. It is quite common to test babies for drugs, whose mothers are considered at high risk of drug use, and positive results can prompt a visit by the child welfare authorities. So far no one knows, why the chemicals in the given shampoos, interfere with the tests, but they are not intoxicating. So basically next time child welfare is knocking on your door, suspecting you of giving your child a joint for breakfast, make sure to show them what baby shampoo you are using.
